General FAQ
-
Which locations do you serve?
ElitePro Detailing proudly serves Charleston, South Carolina, and the surrounding areas. Our mobile detailing units travel directly to you, offering high-quality detailing services for vehicles, boats, and aircraft across the region. Check out the list of cities we serve here.
-
Will my personal settings (seat position, mirrors, etc.) be altered during detailing?
ElitePro Detailing is committed to preserving your personal settings during our interior detailing process so you do not have to painstakingly reset them yourself. While we do our best to keep adjustments to a minimum, occasional modifications may be required for a comprehensive clean, and we will do our best to retrace our steps and put your seats, mirrors, and other elements back to their original state. We recommend noting your settings prior to the detailing session just in case, or you can ask us to record them for you.
-
Are there ways to preserve my vehicle’s paint correction work?
After completing vehicle paint correction services, we at Elite Pro Detailing discuss the various ways that we can help safeguard the hard work that was done to improve your finish. Of course, this greatly depends on the type of surface protection you seek. We largely specialize in top-quality, hydrophobic ceramic coatings that deter stains, contaminants, and UV exposure. Although these coatings do bond with your finish for a water-repellent layer over the paint, they cannot prevent scratches, nicks, and swirl marks.
Common Customer Questions About Paint Correction
-
What types of defects are removed with paint correction?
Paint correction at ElitePro Detailing can remove a variety of defects from your vehicle’s clear coat, all enhancing the look of your original paint. Defects and discrepancies include, but are certainly not limited to, swirl marks, water spots, etching from acid rain, light scratches, holograms, oxidation, and light to moderate scratches and scrapes. We will perform an in-person inspection at the time of your appointment to note what type of defects are affecting your paintwork prior to proceeding.
-
When should I consider vehicle paint correction services?
Paint correction is a versatile and beneficial service that is not bound by any seasonal constraints. This means that any time of the year here in South Carolina is a great time for scheduling your first paint correction package. Whether it is the bright summer sun revealing swirl marks or the harsh winter conditions affecting your vehicle's shine, paint correction can address many of the surface issues you deal with effectively.

Common Customer Questions About Marine Detailing
-
How often should my boat be detailed?
The frequency of booking marine detailing with ElitePro Detailing is subjective. Largely, it depends on various factors that include everything from the type of water the boat sails on (such as freshwater or saltwater), the storage conditions it is subject to, and how often the boat is used during the year. Generally, we recommend a boat gets detailed by our mobile detailing unit at least twice a year no matter how it looks. Boats subject to more intense, harsh environments or used frequently will require more regular detailing services.
-
Can marine detailing remove scratches and oxidation?
Yes, part of the detailing process that we provide at ElitePro Detailing often involves treating minor scratches and oxidation, along with other defects caused by use. In any one of our marine detailing services, we use various compounds, techniques, and multiple passes to remove scratches and restore oxidized surfaces. Please bear in mind that much deeper scratches or more severe oxidation might require more extensive repair that can be discussed at the time of your appointment.
-
What is the difference between waxing and polishing for a boat?
This is a common point of confusion for many boat owners that enlist ElitePro Detailing and our marine detailing services. Polishing is the process of using light abrasion and a compound to remove a small layer of the gel coat or paint, eliminating oxidation and minor imperfections. On the other hand, waxing your hull is done when we apply a protective coat that enhances shine and provides a short-term barrier against environmental elements that your boat is exposed to during sailing.
-
What should I do to prepare my boat for my detailing appointment?
We highly encourage the removal of all personal items from the interior of the boat. This ensures that we can efficiently access and meticulously clean every surface without any obstructions, guaranteeing a thorough and effective detailing service. We also do not want to accidentally misplace any personal artifacts in the process.
Common Customer Questions About Interior Detailing
-
Can interior detailing remove carpet and seat stains and odors?
Yes, this service absolutely helps remove stains and foul odors. Most of those issues contain dirt, allergens, dust, and grime that have accumulated in your vehicle’s interior, leading to unpleasant odors that affect the air quality while you drive. With mobile interior detailing at ElitePro Detailing, we remove these stains, along with the allergens, dust, and grime in question to freshen your interior.
-
Does it make a difference if I have cloth or leather seats?
We expertly clean and condition your vehicle's interior regardless of whether it is outfitted with cloth or leather seats. Both need detailing work done at one point or another, and our specialized techniques ensure that cloth seats are deeply shampooed and conditioned while leather interiors receive careful, specific conditioning. Either option will restore their natural elegance and durability as we tailor our approach to your vehicle's interior needs.
Common Customer Questions About Window Tinting
-
Does window tinting make it impossible to see out of your windows?
Modern window films are designed to maintain excellent visibility from the inside, even while enhancing privacy from the outside. You'll enjoy clear views without compromising protection.
-
Is window tinting illegal?
Window tinting is legal when done within state regulations. Professional installers ensure your vehicle meets all legal standards while still providing the benefits of tinted windows.
-
Is window tinting only for aesthetics?
While window tinting certainly enhances the look of your vehicle, it also offers significant functional benefits. It reduces heat, blocks harmful UV rays, provides privacy, and protects your interior from fading and cracking.
Common Customer Questions About Ceramic Coating
-
Are ceramic coatings completely impervious to all environmental elements?
They are resistant to many contaminants, but are far from being resistant to ALL messes here in the Charleston area. Our ceramic coatings offer excellent protection against many environmental factors like road spray, dirt, dust, bird droppings, and occasional acid rain, but they are not a complete shield against all types of environmental damage or more harsh chemicals on road ways. Be sure to abide by your recommended detailing appointments.
-
Are ceramic coatings easy to apply and can I do it myself?
While there are DIY paint enhancement kits at some auto stores in the Charleston area, ceramic coatings that are professional-grade are not part of this category. The installation process actually requires meticulous surface preparation and proper hand application is crucial to achieving the desired results. We at Elite Pro Detailing are a professional ceramic coating installation unit trained to do so.
-
Does easy maintenance mean my vehicle is now maintenance-free?
Another misconception is that ceramic coatings do not need to be washed because of their stain-resistant hydrophobicity. We do not want our customers here at Elite Pro Detailing to misunderstand this — Ceramic coatings require maintenance of varying levels, depending on what they are exposed to. It is impossible to think that you will never have to wash your vehicle again with a ceramic coating. Cleaning is merely made easier because of the ceramic coating’s surface hydrophobicity, which is a plus.
-
Can a ceramic coating be wrecked by debris?
One common myth is that once a vehicle is treated with a ceramic coating, it becomes impervious to all forms of damage or surface degradation. In reality, while ceramic coatings do bond with your finish and form a layer that is impacted instead of your clear coat, they WILL suffer from defects and discrepancies in those incidents. They can only protect your paintwork against the abrasive effects of environmental contamination and UV exposure, but they are not immune to more significant scratches, scrapes, etching, dings, or chips from road debris.
Common Customer Questions About Aviation Detailing
-
Is aviation detailing just about vanity?
While a clean and shiny aircraft is most definitely visually appealing, aviation detailing with ElitePro Detailing is far more than just a cosmetic improvement. These services, especially those that decontaminate an aircraft, involve thorough hand washing, which is vital for the overall maintenance and longevity of the aircraft. Dirt and grime can hide intense surface degradation and lead to corrosion, permanently parking the aircraft. Simple regular mobile detailing appointments help in identifying and addressing these issues early on and prevent degradation.
-
Can I use any cleaning product on my aircraft?
Aircraft surfaces are different from those of street vehicles or even marine vehicles, and they require specialized products that are SAFE to use on those surfaces. Using inappropriate cleaners can accelerate physical degradation or damage to the aircraft's exterior, including its paint and protective coatings. Too much degradation and your aircraft will be grounded! Trusting our professional aviation detailing unit means that your aircraft will be detailed with effective and safe products.
-
Do rain showers rinse away airborne contaminants during flight?
Although rain can wash away some surface dirt from an aircraft during flight, as you can imagine, it falls drastically short of providing an effective decontamination. Rain often leaves mineral deposits and other residues that can potentially damage the aircraft's exterior. To ensure thorough cleaning and to better protect the aircraft, professional detailing is essential, as it includes diligent hand washing and even the application of short-term surface sealants that natural rainfall will not achiev
-
Is aviation detailing only for large or commercial aircraft?
Owners of luxury aircraft might be a primary customer of our mobile detailing unit; however, the reality is that all aircraft types, including commercial, cargo, and smaller private planes, gain significantly from such regular pro-grade maintenance. Aircraft detailing is crucial not only for maintaining their appearance but also for ensuring safety, enhancing longevity, and improving efficiency.
